Foreigners are always welcome to join the party.
One of the popular sports in Koh Samui is the buffalo fighting. The champion buffalo get several million baht. The fighting season is determined according to the ancient ceremonies and customs. Stadium is present in the south at Ban Saket and in Ban Makham. You can enjoy a lively ambience outside the ring.
Songkran festival is very popular in Koh Samui. In the month of April which is the end of the Buddhist lunar cycle, Songkran is celebrated. People enjoy traditionally as well as in modern way. People usually visit temples in the morning where they share food and drink to people. In the evening different parties are organized all over the island. Water takes an important part in this festival and people splash water on each other?s body on road. Sometimes buckets are also used to pour water on people.
